about Angela

I’ve always been fascinated by glass, its translucence, its myriad possibilities with colour. After a long career in business, I jumped at the chance to explore my creativity when I met the wonderful glass artist Anthony McIntosh. Having been originally encouraged and mentored by him, I've now been lucky enough to work with and be inspired by other fused glass artists.
A member of Horsham Artists (horshamartists.org), I aim to showcase the natural beauty of glass and to bring colour into everyday life by creating functional items that hopefully will give lasting pleasure. From salad bowls to trinket dishes, mirrors to coasters and platters to pendants I like to think that my work can brighten up the dullest of days.

I’m always seeking new ideas, both in colour and style, often informed by my love of travel. Buildings, artwork, landscapes and architecture can inspire whole new collections.
Glass is a wonderful though somewhat unpredictable medium, which is what makes it rather exciting. Once your creation is in the kiln it’s the firing that takes over so the end result may not always be quite as you imagined! It can sometimes be better and more interesting than the original design but if not, then you have the possibility to refire it or to break it up and start again with a completely new vision. It's great fun!
